Does anyone remember this old DOG (Pun intended) that used to operate out of Livingstone's Harry Mwanga Nkumbula Airport?
Love the scene at some of the airstrips I used to fly into! Although quite hazardous to have the #villagers running around they also help chase away any animals that do get on the airfield. Before landing #bushpilots normally do a #runway inspection, a couple of times if needed, to analyse obstacles for the approach and on the go-around in needed. This was taken at #Nabwalya airstrip just north of #Mfuwe, where we flew in some #hunters! | #cessna #grandcaravan #c208 #huntingcamp #huntingstrip #bush #bushflying #bushstrip #airstrip #avgeek #flying #zambia #bushpilot #africa
A thundery clouds around Lusaka! These Boeing 737s are equipped with advanced airborne weather radar equipment, that help us pilots navigate and assess convective weather ahead of the aircraft keeping the flight trajectory safe and comfortable for passengers.
Zambia Airports Fire Services and Ambulance support are prepared for any emergency situation! In this shot, the team welcoming a beautiful Boeing 787 Dreamliner into Lusaka's KK International Airport.
Zambia Is - Wild Sunsets and open skies!
Welcome to Zambia! A fine afternoon turn around for this #flysaa Boeing 737-800.
Do you see the man on the left in green? That's the marshaller directing the Emirates Boeing 777 into the parking stand at Lusaka's KK International Airport. He helps pilots stay clear of other aircraft and obstacles and sometimes has his colleage - a 'wing-walker' assist with the marshalling as pilots in aircraft of this size cannot see their wingtips!
Do you know what a loadmaster is? He/she is responsible for the careful mathematical pre-planning, correct placement and securing of any loaded on board an aircraft, ensuring it complies with the aircraft floor loading and centre of gravity limitations. Toughest job on the ramp!
